Beating Cancer To The Pass

my story is not your typical cancer story. let me start by being very clear, i don't have cancer and have not battled with cancer personally. my story is about doing what i can to beat cancer to the pass. you see, breast cancer took my mother's life when i was 8 1/2 months pregnant with my son(now 9 1/2) she was the third generation of women whose lives were ended with breast cancer. at the time of her death, my relationship with my mother had been strained. we only spoke every six, eight, ten months sometimes once a year. needless to say, i wish i had gotten the chance to speak to her before she died. i have learned a lot and grown a lot since then. i am now mother to three beautiful children(2 boys and 1 girl). i want to see them grow old. i want to be a grandma to my children's children. in order to do that, i have to live and care for this creation of
myself that God has given me. so, at the young age of 35, i had my first mamogram. ladies, let me tell you that as a woman who has a lot to be scanned, this was not the most pleasant experience. my mammogram came back clean. i do monthly exams and will continue to do so. i don't have cancer and i'm going to do what i can to make sure i take care of myself. i cannot
prevent cancer but i can put myself in a position that gives me hope for a healthy future with my children and my children's children.

This is a great story! We all need to be aware of the fact that we can all get cancer. We need to be active in our health and take all preventative actions possible. Instead of hoping it doesn't happen to you stand up and make sure you do everything in your power to stop Cancer in its tracks!

Congratulations on your clean mammogram! Congratulations on being brave enough to face the facts that Cancer could happen.
